Coal Bucket

A coal bucket is designed to store coal near the fireplace. They are usually made of lightweight metal such as tin, brass and copper. Formed like a gravy boat, they are designed in such a way that coal can be easily poured into the fire place. Although, coal is no longer used for fireplaces these days, a lot of people still choose to keep one. People still feel that a fireplace is not complete without one. A grand fireplace or those who want to convey an antique look in their décor understand the importance of having such a bucket.

These buckets are usually lipped and equipped with one or two handles to facilitate pouring. They have varying sizes and no standard form. Some are slender while some are squat. Most of them have different details that make them more aesthetically pleasing such as having embossed designs and other carvings. Some of them come in sets complete with a shovel, a dust pan and some brushes. A coal bucket that comes with a set would certainly make perfect accent pieces particularly in grand fireplaces in luxurious living rooms, study rooms and even bedrooms.
